A review of The Sama Karate Organisation by Henry Sanderson written on Monday 5th of July 2010
I am a parent of a child who wanted to learn karate. We went along to our local Sama club (not knowing any different) and joined in. My son quickly (and I mean quickly!) took three grades and felt he had achieved very highly.
However, after moving to East Sussex we went along to another local club, What a difference! The instructor assessed my son and asked if he was a beginner. When I said he had passed thee grades with Sama the instructor asked if my son would like to join in. My son appeared out of his depth, but the instructor was very tactful and soon guided him through the basics he should have learnt.
Now I know what a real karate class is, the discipline was fantastic, the standard so much higher and I never felt that I was being asked to continually pay for this, that and the other. I am so pleased we found a good karate club where my son will progress without a flase sense of achievement..
